2015 Virginia Coordinated Campaign Seeks Field Organizers

Job Description: 

The Virginia Coordinated Campaign is looking for experienced, motivated and organized individuals to join the 2015 Campaign team as Field Organizers.  Our field organizers will succeed by developing skilled, talented, party advocates throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia. 

 

Position Summary:

Field Organizers are responsible for building a volunteer network and 
executing a local field strategy to win targeted electoral campaigns throughout 
the Commonwealth.  Field Organizers will report to the District Field Director. 

 

Job responsibilities include: 

·         Execute the state field plan; 

·         Recruiting, training, and managing volunteers, activists and interns to participate in grassroots activities such as door-to-door canvassing, phone banking and early voting to persuade and turn out voters the November elections; 

·         Meet personal and volunteer goals that are handed down daily, weekly and monthly

·         Coordinating with allied organizations, local community groups and statewide field staff; 

 

Job Qualifications

Candidates should possess previous field organizing experience, a strong commitment to Democratic ideals, grassroots organizing, excellent personal, verbal and written communication skills.  Candidates should also thrive in a fast-paced and constantly changing political environment.

·         Previous political campaign experience in support of an issue, initiative, or candidate

·         Drive to succeed in a high stress environment 

·         Willingness to relocate; 

·         Willingness to travel to attend trainings and events; 

·         Ability to work quickly and cooperatively under pressure and meet deadlines; 

·         Ability to work well with coalitions and the staff and leadership of allied organizations; 

·         Energetic outlook and commitment to the mission and grassroots approach to change; 

·         A commitment to teamwork that leads to accomplishing goals

·         A working knowledge of VAN
