Freedman Consulting, LLC, is hiring a Senior Associate to provide strategic consulting around a portfolio of issues focused on technology in the public interest and the intersection of tech policy and social justice. The Senior Associate will provide policy development and planning, strategic advising, research, and writing for firm clients on a broad portfolio of technology issues focused on innovations for the greater social good.

Freedman Consulting, LLC, located in Washington, DC, offers strategic consulting services to foundations, nonprofit organizations, and philanthropic coalitions, including many of the leading supporters of internet freedom and rights for the digital age. Examples of our work include: strategic planning and issue landscaping for major foundations, campaign advising and coordination for public interest coalitions, and policy development in high-profile campaigns.

The position entails several client responsibilities, including:

 

• Leading the development of reports, memos, and other client deliverables
• Developing work plans and helping scope client projects
• Directing and managing research tasks
• Helping to manage coalitions and develop engagement strategies
• Providing strategic communications and messaging guidance
• Contributing to internal team strategy sessions
• Support, preparation, and participation in client meetings and presentations

 

Requirements: At least 3-5 years of previous legislative, policy, consulting, and/or research-related experience is required. Experience with technology or telecommunications policy is preferred. Applicants must possess excellent writing and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think through and work on complex issues critically and strategically. Salary and benefits are competitive and based on experience.
