Field Director: Northern California Congressional Race

A northern California Congressional Democratic Campaign is seeking a full-time Field Director to manage the entire field operation starting mid July. The Field Director will report to the Campaign Manager and will be responsible for the hiring and training of field organizers. Start date: Mid July

End date: Mid November, 2016

Duties include but are not limited to: 

·      In conjunction with the Campaign Manager, prepare and execute field plan

·      Hire field staff – Regional Field Organizer and Field Organizers

·      Recruit and train volunteers to assist with executing the field plan

·      Manage field staff and ensure they meet goals and deadlines

·      Collect weekly reports from field organizers and run voter ID numbers to adjust the field program as necessary

·      Oversee timely and accurate reporting by all staff and volunteers

·      Coordinate campaign events and outreach with Campaign Manager

·       Staff the candidate at field events 

Qualifications/Skills needed:

·      One or two election cycles of field experience, preferably at the Director or Deputy Director level in a Congressional race

·       Experience training and coaching staff and volunteers

·       Ability to meet deadlines and adjust the field plan as needed in conjunction with the Campaign Manager

·      Strong verbal and written communication skills

·       Ability to execute strategic plan and work effectively with federal, state and local leaders and campaigns

·      Knowledge of Political Data, Inc. (PDI) preferred

·      Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
