Overview
An at-large Seattle City Council campaign seeks to hire a campaign organizer. The applicant will work with the candidate, campaign manager, and field director, and be responsible for coordinating volunteers, phone banks, and canvassing. Compensation is $2,500/month with health care stipend. This position requires use of a personal cell phone and vehicle (cell phone stipend and mileage reimbursement provided by campaign). Responsibilities
Recruit and retain robust volunteer base for canvassing, phone banking and data entry
Plan and execute weekly volunteer activities including phone banks and canvass shifts
Support volunteer capacity building by training volunteers on effective get-out-the-vote (GOTV) strategies via phone and door-to-door contact
Manage regular communication with volunteers using email blasts, phone banks and text messages
Collect and organize data for voter contact activities
Supervise and train interns
Support fundraising activities
Qualifications
Demonstrated commitment to equity and social justice
Ability to communicate with others across communication styles, learning styles and cultural backgrounds
Proven ability to meet goals under pressure and remain flexible in changing environment
Previous organizing experience such as community organizing, student organizing or electoral field work
Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
Detail-oriented and organized
Strong written and verbal skills
