Employers and progressive talent get to meet and network online in a unique and efficient way. Below is a bit more information, or visit this link to register for both employers and talent, which can be found on that page. We’re excited about the registration already of both employers and talent - but we’re still recruiting more. We’d certainly appreciate it if you willing to spread the word about it. This is a social media kit we made for the event - please share it! The late deadline for submitting nominations for the Powerful IDEA Awards passed - but we’ll let a few more sneak in while we review nominations. We’re excited to start sharing all nominations. We love to see the community of talented people celebrated, hard work honored, and impact recognized. Next week we’ll be sharing more information about the awards event and program, so stay tuned for that. In the past month, we welcomed 75 new employers to our career center and have seen many more employers post new positions. The career center remains the best way to get all the job posts. You can also create job alerts tailored to your specific interests. Jobs That Are Left Google Group is up after Google took it down for over a month. During that time, we set up a new Jobs That Are Left Substack and started sharing there. So now our jobs are in three places, plus we share some on our social channels. The three platforms have unique benefits for viewing posts. We’re still experimenting with how we best share on these platforms so they are perfectly syncing in the same way. We’ll share more about this process soon and collect your feedback too. We want to make sure we’re getting you posts in the best ways possible. Phew! It has been an up-and-down week! Our first career fair of 2023 was on Wednesday. We're grateful for all who contributed to making it a success. Special shout out to our partners at the National Democratic Training Committee - all the employers and, of course, all the talent who joined. We had over 400 participants join us live, which was great. The horrific school mass shooting broke our hearts and spirit this week - AGAIN. Adding to the heartbreak is how the right wing is using the shooters' identity to continue and add to their anti-trans attacks. We must step up as allies even more - especially as today is International Transgender Day of Visibility - but really every day. In honor of this, we want to share our love with one of our favorite organizations dedicated to promoting and protecting the trans community: The Trans Empowerment Project does so much critical service and advocacy work. I contributed to them today and encourage our community to do the same. All things Trump/MAGA trigger me - in a way that is not healthy. With that in mind, I've paid little attention to today's events but want to acknowledge the historical significance of the indictment and the implications it will undoubtedly have on the narrative going into the 2024 elections. We have a lot of work to protect our democracy and advance progressive values and policies they seek to destroy. This is why our GAIN Power community is so important. We continue to focus on programs and events to unite and expand the people who work for Democratic and Progressive organizations. We aim to support the people who power progressive politics - to celebrate and elevate this community. Here is a quick update on the Powerful IDEA awards. Processing the nominations is taking a bit longer than planned, so we need to push back voting a few days. Voting will launch a few days later, by April 10th. We'll still have a month for community voting and two weeks for final judging. Next week we'll share more details and also open registration for the events on June 5&6th. You may have notices we’re continuing to make some modifications to how we share our career center jobs. We’re working hard to find ways to expand their reach to all talent and lift up all our employers. This is the critical foundation of all our work. The career center remains the best way to get all the job posts. You can also create job alerts tailored to your specific interests. Happy Easter and Passover to those who celebrate! We hope you can enjoy time with family and friends. It has been a crazy political week - with big highs and lows. The events in NY this week were historical to witness but frankly are not worthy of our time. We want to send a big shout out to everyone who helped elect Judge Janet Protasiewicz - whether you played a big or small role. It was amazing to watch the progressive community come together and prioritize this critical race for Wisconsin. Big congrats too to Brandon Johnson’s campaign in Chicago - that was an awesome win. We know others including many friends in Denver had elections this week. I just gave to the DLCC’s page supporting Reps Justin Jones and Justin Pearson and hope our community supports them too. If you haven’t followed this, they were expelled for organizing peaceful protests calling for gun safety legislation. Watching folks come together to support the leaders in Tennessee standing up to protect children and others from gun violence is beautiful to see.

We continue to focus on programs and events to unite and expand the people who work for Democratic and Progressive organizations. We aim to support the people who power progressive politics - to celebrate and elevate this community.

Here is a quick update on the Powerful IDEA awards. Voting will launch on Monday, April 10th. We'll have a month for community voting and two weeks for final judging. Next week we'll share more details and open registration for the events on June 6th & 7th. We’re hosting a live and virtual awards program, career and campaign services expo with a diverse variety of panels. We’d love your input on some of the programming for these events and more. This community feedback helps shape the panel topics, professional development sessions, and speakers we invite. We’d love community suggestions about this and more. Thanks.
