Under the umbrella of Planned Parenthood of Northern, Centeral and Southern New Jersey, the Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey (PPAFNJ) – is a nonpartisan, social welfare organization, and the advocacy arm of all the Planned Parenthood Affiliates in the state of NJ.
Position Summary:
The full-time Public Affairs Manager (PAM) to assist in establishing grassroots influence for implementation of the agency’s advocacy campaigns and will serve as an ambassador with volunteers, coalition partners and key community contacts. Primary responsibilities include cultivating and stewarding relationships with volunteers, a wide range of coalition partners and legislators to advance the mission of Planned Parenthood.
Specifically:
- Represents Planned Parenthood’s mission and policy positions when speaking to external audiences
- Recruits, trains, supports and recognizes public affairs volunteers
- Provides leadership for community partnerships and grassroots efforts
- Organizes community events and all related logistics, outreach and recruitment
- Assist with marketing efforts for grassroots field campaigns, donor relations projects and health center services
Ideal candidate must have a Bachelor’s level degree with previous experience in political/grassroots organizing. Experience in coalition recruitment, project management, and database management preferred. This position requires frequent travel across the state and a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

- Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to travel throughout the Affiliate’s service area as required.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to workplace values of respect, caring, support, effective communication, teamwork & collaboration, accountability and responsibility; practice these values in relation with internal and external customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned in support of the mission and as required.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s level degree with previous experience in political/grassroots organizing.
- Coalition recruitment, project management, and database management experience preferred.
