Fight Back Connecticut, the 2018 Democratic Coordinated Campaign, is seeking energetic and dedicated full-time Organizers for our statewide organizing program. With nationally targeted races at all levels, the Democratic Coordinated Campaign will play a pivotal role in re-electing Senator Chris Murphy, our Members of Congress, and Democrats up and down the ballot. Organizers will be the on-the-ground support for the many volunteer leaders who will make that possible. Organizers will be responsible for recruiting for, training, and coordinating local volunteer-led voter mobilization efforts. Ideal candidates are hard-working, have a strong commitment to electing Democrats, and believe in the power of grassroots organizing. Organizers will report directly to their assigned Regional Organizing Director.


Organizers’ responsibilities include the following:

Recruiting volunteers and working alongside volunteer leaders to manage local campaign teams 

Meet and exceed campaign’s local weekly voter contact and volunteer recruitment metrics
Training volunteers both one-on-one and in groups on campaign goals and practices
Leading volunteer canvass and phone bank events

Utilizing digital tools and social media accounts to engage with volunteers and mobilize voters
Persuading voters to support Democratic candidates up and down the ballot in upcoming elections 

Executing a full-scale Get Out The Vote effort in assigned communities in November 2018


Skills and Qualifications:

Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people 

Natural time management + organizational skills, and able to meet specific weekly metric goals
Experience either working on or volunteering with a political campaign, whether in CT or elsewhere 

A positive attitude, a determination to overcome challenges, and a natural team player

Willingness to work long hours, oftentimes including nights and weekends 

Ability to translate campaign instruction into effective volunteer mobilization 

Valid driver’s license and reliable personal access to a vehicle
Ties to Connecticut are welcomed, but not required
