Organizing 2020 is hiring for full-time statewide Organizing Directors to join our team. The Organizing Director will report to the State Director and work to both plan and implement programs to build the grassroots organization necessary to persuade and mobilize volunteers and voters.
Responsibilities
Build a robust volunteer organization & infrastructure across the state
Establish a strong organizing culture across all regions
Work closely with State Director, Data Director to create turf
Hire and manage a team of Deputy Organizing Directors who will oversee Regional Organizing Directors and Organizers
Develop and lead the statewide organizing team to meet capacity-building and voter contact goals
Determine staff and volunteer training program and schedule in conjunction with the State Director, Training Director, and National Organizing Director
Incorporate digital organizing to support offline organizing program in each state
Work closely with the Data Director on reporting needs and to ensure data integrity is a key part of the organizing program
Manage metrics and goals to achieve strategic imperatives within the state program in conjunction with the State Director
Requirements
Three to five cycles of organizing experience and at least three cycles of staff management experience is preferred, including experience managing managers.
Experience on a presidential campaign is preferred but not required.
Willingness to manage a diverse team with different experiences and perspectives, and a commitment to helping them grow and succeed.
A valid driver’s license and a reliable motor vehicle.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work in a high pressure environment, and meet tight timelines.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills and sound judgement.
Experience with VAN, Google Drive, Excel, Word, Data Analytics Tool.
