Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee
The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee's mission is to win Democratic majorities and build Democratic power in state legislatures.
In the 2018 cycle, Democrats flipped over 400 state legislative seats and gained eight new Democratic majorities. This is the most chambers flipped since the 2006 cycle, and the most seats flipped by Democrats in a generation. Nearly 1,250 of the Democrats elected to their state legislatures in 2018 were women, and more than 900 were candidates of color.
As the only organization exclusively committed to electing Democrats to state legislatures all over the country, the DLCC has been working with state legislative leaders for over two decades to invest strategically in state programs and build the Democratic Party from the ground up.
Finance Assistant or Finance Coordinator
The Finance Assistant or Finance Coordinator provides direct support for the DLCC Finance Department and the National Finance Director. The Finance Assistant or Finance Coordinator will assist the team with donor research and prospecting, database maintenance, intern hiring and management, and assist with material preparation for the department.
The Finance Assistant or Finance Coordinator will also assist the National Finance Director in executing the labor outreach program and be the primary contact for DLCC Board of Directors communications. As needed, the Finance Assistant or Finance Coordinator will assist the Major Gifts department and the Corporate Relations department on a wide variety of tasks.
The Finance Assistant or Finance Coordinator will exercise good judgment in all situations. Using strong organizational and prioritization skills, the Finance Assistant or Finance Coordinator is expected to balance multiple priorities, from concept to completion, while working independently on projects as assigned. The Finance Assistant must be able to work under pressure, while handling a wide variety of projects and responsibilities.
This position reports to the National Finance Director and is based in Washington, DC.

Salary for the Finance Assistant position is $45,000-50,000 on an annualized basis commensurate with experience. Salary for the Finance Coordinator position is $50,000-60,000 on an annualized basis commensurate with experience. In addition, the DLCC offers a generous benefit package, including fully paid health/vision/dental insurance, an up to 6% retirement contribution, transit and FSA subsidies, and more.
