CODE2040 is a nonprofit organization that creates pathways to educational, professional, and entrepreneurial success in technology for underrepresented minorities with a specific focus on Blacks and Latino/as. CODE2040 aims to close the achievement, skills, and wealth gaps in the United States. Our goal is to ensure that by the year 2040  - when the US will be majority-minority - Blacks and Latino/as are proportionally represented in America's innovation economy as technologists, investors, thought leaders, and entrepreneurs.


ABOUT THE ROLE: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

We’re looking for an Administrative Assistant to join as the calm center to a lot of moving pieces within our fast-paced programs team.  You will work closely with the VP of Programs  and Program Directors to actively plan and execute initiatives to help build strong systems to increase our efficiency and effectiveness.

You will assist CODE2040 in driving our mission forward as we grow and change with natural progression. You will be the grease that keeps the wheels turning, ensuring there are no loose ends, no pieces falling through the cracks, and no improvements left unmade. You will continuously take on new projects as you master responsibilities.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE…

Administrative

  • Tracking and managing the program team's operational needs and supplies
  • Maintaining accurate and updated databases such as Salesforce, Google Docs, and Greenhouse   
  • Scheduling meetings, conferences, and appointments, often coordinating with multiple external and internal partners
  • Playing air traffic controller by reacting to incoming inquiries from applicants and various stakeholders, and by maintaining a schedule that is sustainable in pace and scope, taking into account unforeseen obligations and variables.
  • Assisting in preparing the materials for meetings (e.g., agendas, presentations and minutes), including for board meetings.

Organizational Development

  • Empowering the team to meet critical deadlines and complete projects with excellent quality.
  • Contributing to the idea generation that drives the strategic vision and mission of CODE2040.
  • Ensuring efficient team operations, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness by building new or improving existing internal systems.
  • Contributing to a positive team culture by creatively celebrating anniversaries, birthdays, exciting events, etc.
  • Owning your projects and spearheading special projects as they arise.
