The Reelect Gregorio “Greg” Casar campaign is hiring for the full time position of Field Director. The objective of the campaign is not just to reelect Council Member Greg Casar - the campaign is part of a continuing dialogue with the communities of North Austin about the issues everyday Austinites face. We also aim to increase voter participation in Austin City Council District 4 and to build up the bench of progressive organizing talent.
Good candidates will be ready to devote time and energy to working to advance progress in Austin, Texas. On the job training is available for the technical work, but political campaign experience is mandatory. Reliable transportation and a functional cell phone and laptop are required.
The Field Director will be an integral part of the team, working closely with CM Casar and other campaign staff. They will get the chance to direct a well-funded and robust field campaign in a diverse district. This is a great opportunity to get professional campaign and organizing experience with the guidance of an experienced candidate and campaign manager.
The Field Director will be responsible for:
Managing Field Organizers and Field program
Creating turf for canvassing
Creating call lists for phone banking
Providing up to date reports on field progress
Maintaining clean data and an up-to-date voter file
Managing the campaign VAN
Maintaining the devices used for MiniVAN
Attending all staff meetings
Having professional interactions with supporters, voters, and volunteers
Pay for the Field Director will be commensurate based on experience.
