Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.
Andy Kim, a Rhodes Scholar and former White House national security official, is running for Congress in his home district -- the New Jersey Third Congressional District. This race was recently named to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Red to Blue program, indicating it’s a must-win for Democrats to take back the House in 2018. Recent polls show this race as a dead heat. Andy, the only Democrat in the race, has picked up notable endorsements from groups across the Democratic party and beyond, including from President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, former White House Chief of Staff Dennis McDonough, NARAL, End Citizens United, Council for a Livable World, the Asian American Action Fund, ASPIRE PAC and others. As a career public servant, Andy served two years at the White House as the Director for Iraq at the National Security Council where he was a point person for coordinating the counter-ISIS war. He is running against Republican Tom MacArthur who authored the TrumpCare bill in the House and came up with the proposal to gut pre-existing condition protections.
