The Ohio Democratic Party is taking applications for Regional Party Coordinators. The Coordinators will have a unique opportunity to be true proactive catalysts in making change and progress within Ohio, the Democratic Party and its stakeholder groups.
The Coordinators will be assigned to a specific area in the state. There, they will play a significant role in virtually every aspect of campaign work. Coordinators will work in all departments to help execute the larger organizational goals and be directed by special project and political staff:
Communications and press – facilitating press conferences and other earned media events, monitoring local press and producing new/social media content for local markets
Finance and fundraising – identify potential donors to fundraising staff and pitch low and medium dollar programs;
Field – Building and managing grassroots organizing efforts in the region; including recruiting, training and managing volunteers, voter contact & persuasion;
Political – Implementing political strategy for staff, local elected leaders, county parties, allied organizations, and activists;
Required Skills
At least two cycles on issue or electoral campaigns. Some field experience preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Willing to work extensive hours, including nights and weekends
Positive attitude and ability to motivate staff members
Committed to details, results, meeting goals, and consistent improvement
Ability to approach problem solving with creativity
Experience working collaboratively with elected officials, candidates, community groups, and/or allied organizations
High level of personal and professional integrity
