SUMMARY:        

NextGen Climate is currently seeking detail oriented and highly motivated organizers to join our team in Iowa as Field Organizers (FOs) through the 2016 Caucuses. FOs will be responsible for managing campus and community turf, relationships, staff and volunteer recruitment efforts.


RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Developing a volunteer base in the community and on campus
  • Effectively recruit and train volunteers around climate change
  • Utilize social and earned media
  • Use voter database and online organizing tools
  • Responsible for volunteer training, development and management
  • Responsible for voter contact, volunteer recruitment, and event management
  • Meet all goals and deadlines

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Ideal candidate has experience organizing volunteers on college campuses
  • Proficient in use of social media
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt rapidly to evolving priorities and deadlines and manage several tasks simultaneously
  • Driven with a strong work ethic
  • Self-motivated and willing to work long hours (including nights and weekends)
  • Previous climate, energy or environmental issue organizing experience a plus

COMPENSATION:


Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Employment period runs through 2016 Iowa caucuses.
