End Citizens United’s Mission: To end Big Money in politics and fix our rigged political system by electing campaign finance reform champions, passing state ballot measures and elevating this issue in the national conversation. We will work in partnership with these champions to overturn Citizens Unitedand to end the unlimited and undisclosed money in politics. We’ll work towards the mission by electing pro-reform candidates, raising the issue of money in politics as a national priority, and working with ballot measure campaigns to pass pro-reform laws in the states.

 

Job Summary: The State Candidate Coordinator assists the Director in liaising with non-federal candidate campaigns, assessing new endorsement opportunities, and working with the rest of staff to ensure that the organization is supporting champion endorsees to the best of its capacity.

 

Reports to:  Director of Policy and Non-Federal Strategy

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

•      Coordinate endorsement process internally and with non-federal campaigns

•      Workwithsupervisor to refine and apply messaging to help reform champions

•      Serve as liaison between ECU and endorsed campaigns

•      Compose assessments of campaigns seeking endorsements

•      Represent ECU in conversations with national, state, and local partner organizations

•      Coordinate with other ECU departments as needed and perform additional duties asassigned

 

Qualifications

The State Candidate Coordinator must perform well both independently and in a team setting. They must have a strong interest in stopping the flow of Big Money in our elections. They are expected to have at least 1 full cycle of political management experience.  The Coordinator should possess excellent communication and organizational skills, strong attention to detail, an instinct for anticipating and creatively solving problems, the initiative to propose solutions and fill in voids, and a robust sense of humor.
