The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is the nation’s leading
voice promoting equity and education for women and girls. Since our
founding in 1881, AAUW members have examined and taken positions on the
fundamental issues of the day — educational, social, economic, and
political.
AAUW’s Member Leadership Programs department (MLP) supports and strengthens
AAUW member leaders by offering leadership programs and trainings for
leaders at all levels. MLP provides leadership resources through in person
trainings, webinars, and online resources. Member leadership programs
include AAUW’s member trainers program, made up of 85 trainers across the
United States and AAUW’s salary negotiation programs.
Summary Description
The Member Leadership Program department seeks an intern starting September
21 to work 30-40 hours/week. The intern will support the growth and
coordination of leadership programs and resources. This internship is ideal
for someone with a passion for leadership development and/or training.
Essential Duties
- Assist member trainer and salary negotiation programs in online andsocial media efforts, including tracking participation, responding toquestions, posting updates and facilitating discussion on multiple platforms- Assist with resource creation including PowerPoint slides, handouts,and flipchart guides- Process and analyze evaluation data for member leadership and salarynegotiation programs- Provide administrative support to AAUW’s Start Smart and Work SmartSalary Negotiation Programs, including the Boston Work Smart Initiative, asneeded- Coordinate updates to existing curriculum and resources to improveconsistency and usability- Assist in the preparation of the monthly newsletter for memberleaders, including soliciting “shout outs” from members- Assist with planning for state conventions including managing stateapplications and preparing travel and materials as needed- Assist with leadership topic research for new trainings, resources andtools Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in leadership development, curriculum development,training, and/or as a volunteer/student leader- Excellent written and oral communications skills- Experience with social media platforms including Facebook- Demonstrated history of creativity, customer service, andproblem-solving skills- Excellent interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, strong sense ofself-direction and independence- Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook,PowerPoint, and Excel)- A minimum of 30 hours per week is strongly desired, and preferencewill be given to interns available for the full 37.5 hours per week.Interns are paid on an hourly basis To Apply
