America Votes is the coordination hub of the progressive community. Position Description

America Votes is seeking a development manager to help guide national fundraising operations. The development manager will work within the development department and specialize in state-based fundraising plan management, mass and targeted donor communications event management, and contribution and pledge tracking. This position reports to the development director.

 

Location

Washington, D.C.  

 

Responsibilities

·        Manage key components of national non-profit development department.

·        Work directly with state staff to help guide the creation and execution of state-specific fundraising plans.

·        Assist in management of fundraising efforts and logistics around annual State Summit and other events.

·        Oversee creation of mass and individualized donor communications, including proposals, memos, letters, etc.

·        Manage the production of grant applications and reports for donors and foundations.

·        Maintain donor database and ensure notes and contributions are recorded and tracked efficiently.

 

Qualifications

·        At least two years of political or nonprofit fundraising work is preferred.

·        Candidates must be able to manage multiple projects and keep track of the details in a rapid-paced environment.

·        Candidates must be able to communicate effectively, work well under pressure, be extremely detail oriented and meet deadlines.

·        Candidates must be able to work independently (and “manage up”) as well as a member of a team.

·        Candidates must possess excellent organizational, time-management, and written communications skills.

·        Candidates should have familiarity fundraising management software like NGP VAN, EveryAction, and Microsoft Excel.

·        Candidates must be able to work well with people from diverse backgrounds. Experience working in communities of color preferred.

 

Compensation

Salary is commensurate with experience in the $55,000-60,000 range. Benefits include health, dental, vision and 401K.
