Communications Manager - Progressive Consulting Firm - New York City

A progressive political consulting and public relations firm, is seeking an experienced Communications Manager for the 2016 and 2017 elections to create original and engaging messaging for our campaign and organizational goals. 

 

Candidates should have experience working in a fast-paced, campaign style environment; have knowledge of New York politics and the New York City and Albany press corps. Must be willing to work nights and weekends and work in a team driven environment.

 

The Role:

 

• Develop and maintain relationships with reporters

• Draft press releases, quotes, and related content for press and media use

• Create detailed campaign press and messaging plans

• Draft direct mail pieces and palm cards

• Assist in development of digital media content

• Assist with other projects as needed

 

Skills and Experience: 

 

• Experience in New York politics and with the New York press corps

• Clear, concise and engaging writing style

• Ability to execute quality work under tight deadlines with little oversight

• Strong project-management and time-management skills

 

Position Type: Full-time
