2018 Nevada Coordinated Campaign - Deputy Organizing Director Position
The Nevada State Democratic Party is seeking experienced Deputy Organizing Directors to lead a diverse and robust organizing team in Nevada in 2018. We are looking for passionate, hardworking individuals who are committed to building the grassroots turnout operation needed to win elections up and down the ballot for Democrats in November 2018.
Role Overview
Deputy Organizing Directors will be responsible for coaching and managing a team of Regional Organizing Directors and their organizers to hit data-driven organizing metrics. Deputy Organizing Directors should be skilled managers, positive, solutions-oriented, creative and capable of motivating a diverse staff. Candidates with experience writing and implementing organizing programs are preferred. Deputy Organizing Directors report directly to the Organizing Director.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Including, but not limited to:
Develop strategies and systems that lead your regions to successfully meet daily and weekly organizing metrics, as well as maintain data integrity
Assist Organizing Director in developing tactics that support the statewide organizing program
Work with state leadership to implement new communications, messaging, and digital strategies
Work effectively with other campaign departments to facilitate support structures for the organizing team
Ensure that all Organizing staff in your regions are properly trained on the technical aspects of the job, and work with the Training team to fill the gaps and raise the floor of productivity
Keep your team focused and motivated in a high-stress, rigorous work schedule and environment
Consistently meet stated deadlines and communicate with Organizing Director when challenges arise
Required Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively and clearly communicate with different types of stakeholders, from high level elected officials to grassroots activists
Strong collaboration skills, willingness to contribute ideas and work effectively on a team
Experience meeting deadlines, and the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously
Strong communication skills and ability to communicate priorities, needs and expectations up and down the chain of command
Strong lateral management skills
Must have access to a vehicle and a cellphone
Capacity and desire to work long hours in a campaign setting
Preferred Background & Experience
Two cycles of organizing experience and two cycles of staff management experience
Proficiency with Votebuilder/VAN
