DC or CT-based job for Copywriter at Premier Democratic Mail Firm

Seeking a Copywriter for one of the premier Democratic mail firms in the country. Our clients include Democratic Senators, Governors, members of Congress and municipal office holders, as well as labor unions, pro-choice organizations and environmental groups. If you work here, you need to be down for the cause.

This position is a cycle hire that ends after the 2016 election.  The position can be based out of Hartford CT or Washington DC, however all candidates must be willing to relocate to Hartford from September 1 to October 31. Housing in Hartford is provided.

The ideal candidate is a terrific writer, with perfect grammar and excellent proofing and editing skills.  But in this job, you also have to understand how to marry a great headline with a compelling visual image.  You’re not just writing copy – you’re creating direct mail, so you have to think visually.  Previous experience in political message development is strongly preferred.   Familiarity with campaigns, press, polling and issues is a big plus.

We believe in a fun, collaborative work environment. Divas and lone wolves need not apply. Because our work is all about Election Day, our workload is very concentrated in the period from July to November 2016. As we get closer to Election Day the hours get longer and the pace accelerates.
