Field Organizer: Top Tier NY Congressional Race

[NYS Organizer 2020]

Field organizers are needed in an upstate New York district to defeat a key Trump defender in the most competitive red-to-blue seat in the northeast. Field Organizers will serve on the frontlines of our grassroots program to bring real representation to the district. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Recruit, manage and empower a triple digit volunteer (and volunteer leader) infrastructure

• Run and prepare canvasses and phone banks, including printing lists and cutting turf

• Hit organizer voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals

• Manage and mentor in district and remote interns

• Submit nightly reports of voter contact and volunteer recruitment numbers as well as weekly reports

• Run an aggressive house party program

• Identify events and build a calendar for their county or area

• Ensure all data is properly recorded and entered in the VAN

• Spearhead an unprecedented GOTV (Get Out the Vote) program

• Work with county parties, local campaigns, and local unions to create joint efforts to maximize efficiency

• Exceptionally well organized with the ability to meet strict deadlines 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Disciplined and solutions-oriented approach to all tasks

• Commitment to electing Democrats

• The ability and willingness to work six days a week and long hours to fight for democratic values

• Must have access to a cell phone and vehicle 

• First time organizers encouraged to apply
