Position Overview
Our Oregon is seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Director to drive the strategic vision and campaign work as well as manage the day-to-day operations of an energetic organization.
The Executive Director provides the strategic vision and leadership for Our Oregon and the coalition’s work to fight for economic and social justice for all Oregonians. Working closely with the Board of Directors, the Director will create and implement a strategic plan to drive a statewide agenda that supports a wide range of progressive issues from school funding to protecting the environment. In addition, the Executive Director has overall responsibility for staff, programs, fundraising and budget management.
The ideal candidate is a proven progressive leader, a strategic thinker and possess a deep understanding of coalition work. The Director will have deep experience in the progressive political arena, along with strategic leadership and management expertise. The Director will be committed to building and supporting the Our Oregon coalition that works towards real change in Oregon’s system of funding schools, health care, human services, and public safety. Candidates must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment.
Client Overview
Our Oregon is dedicated to fighting for economic and social justice for all Oregonians. Our coalition represents organizations and individuals who care about a range of issues, including increasing funding for our schools and critical services; fighting for equality and access to justice; and protecting the environment.
Our Oregon's accomplishments include defeating a series of anti-union, anti-choice, anti-public school ballot measures in every election cycle since 2004, running multiple successful statewide campaigns simultaneously. In 2012, they led the effort to reform a corporate tax loophole and re-direct millions of dollars to education. Currently, they are working to increase corporate transparency and hold businesses accountable for their fair share in taxes so that money can be invested in schools and services.
Our Oregon has been on the forefront of defeating conservative initiatives and serves as a model for progressive coalition work all across the country.

Compensation Package:
Our Oregon offers a highly competitive salary and benefits package consistent with experience, skills and demonstrated abilities. It’s office is located in Portland, Oregon. Some local and out-of-state travel is occasionally required.
