Canvass Director: Queens NY Borough President Special Election

A progressive candidate in the upcoming Queens Borough President (NYC) special election is seeking a Canvass Director to manage the day-to-day execution of the campaign field plan. This position will oversee an extensive canvass staff and have significant autonomy to execute on campaign strategy within the bounds set. This position is for immediate hire and will likely last through March 2020, though the date is dependent on the exact date of the special election.

 

Key candidate skills:

-       Strong organizational skills

-       Strong verbal and written communications skills.

-       A keen understanding of the importance of good data and the ability to easily detect and correct mistakes by canvassers

-       Enthusiastic about progressive politics, particularly climate change advocacy

-       Attention to detail and an ability to work independently towards success under the intense time pressure that is a three-month long special election campaign

-       Grace and enthusiasm under pressure

 

Relevant Notes:

-       Prior experience in a field or management position on a campaign is required. This is a senior position overseeing a significant staff.

-       Experience in New York City a plus but not required if a candidate has sufficient other experience.
