Working Partnerships USA is a thriving non profit organization that
formed in 1995 in response to the widening gap between Silicon
Valley's prosperous employers and the well being of much of the
region's workforce. Today, Working Partnerships is a unique
collaboration among labor unions, religious groups, educators and
other community-based organizations that crafts innovative solutions
to the problems of the New Economy.
We are looking for an experienced Executive Assistant to support our
Executive Director. The ideal candidate will work well under pressure
and enjoy a fast-paced environment
Examples of Work:
Summarizes content of incoming materials and specially gathered data
and briefs Executive Director regarding important issues or
conflicts.
Answer Phones
Will establish appointment priorities or reschedule appointments or
invitations.
Schedules all appointments and works with a team to prioritize
requests for meetings, travel and special engagements
Represents Executive Director through telephone and personal
contacts.
Assesses the urgency and importance of situations and takes
appropriate action.
Ensures, in the Executive Director's absence, that requests for action
and information are furnished in a timely manner.
Manage Office Staff
Acts as liaison between Executive Director and staff; works with
senior staff regarding outstanding deliverables and issues.
Notes commitments made by Executive Director during meetings and
arranges for staff implementation.
Coordinates and schedules Board of Director meetings along with
supporting materials.
Reads publications, correspondence, and directives and takes action or
refers important matters to Executive Director and senior staff.
Advises Executive Director regarding the need for revisions in
administrative procedures and policy and informs staff.
Qualifications:
Candidates for this position will have four years of experience
providing support to a very busy senior level executive. Candidates
must have experience managing a complex and constantly changing
schedule. The position requires significant independent decision-
making, including whether and when to seek additional information and
assistance. The position also requires some policy knowledge and
ability to digest information quickly.
Substitutions:
A BA degree in any field will substitute for one year of the required
experience.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in the non-profit sector is highly desirable. Experience
with social movement organizations is also a plus. Knowledge of the
Spanish language is also a plus.
