Field Organizer for Marc Elrich for County Executive(Maryland)

Marc Elrich for County Executive is seeking a full-time Field Organizer to help elect a progressive champion as the next Executive of Montgomery County, Maryland.

Marc Elrich has been an at-large Montgomery County Councilmember since 2006 and is now running for County Executive. He is a former public school teacher who, during his time on the Takoma Park City Council and Montgomery County Council, has fought for affordable housing, the minimum wage, responsible development, a cleaner environment, racial justice, and educational opportunity for all, among other issues.

The Field Organizer will be primarily responsible for meeting voter contact goals, volunteer recruitment and organization building, and proper data entry in VoteBuilder (VAN). The position will begin in January and run through the primary election on June 26.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·      Recruiting, managing and training volunteers to participate in direct voter contact activities including canvassing, phone banking, and event building.

·      Working with the Deputy Campaign Manager to hit target goals, maintain a vibrant volunteer base, and manage a grassroots program.

·      Preparing canvass and call materials for volunteer activities.

·      Adhering to a strict campaign environment that ensures victory in June.

Qualifications:

·      Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully relate to voters and volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds.

·      Attention to detail.

·      Positive attitude.

·      Passion for policy that helps people.

·      Familiarity with Montgomery County.

·      Ability to work nights and weekends in a fast-paced, metrics-driven work environment.

Preferred but not required:

·      Reliable access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.

·      Prior campaign experience or community organizing experience.

·      Fluency in a second language.

·      Knowledge of Votebuilder/VAN.
