Creative Content Coordinator
Creative Team for The Public Interest Network

Overview

We’re hiring a Creative Content Coordinator to oversee digital content creators.

Our team creates online content for organizations in The Public Interest Network. We focus on issue campaigns that affect people’s lives -- things like global warming, water quality and public health. We’re strategic in our approach and passionate about making a difference.

Our Network has long been a leader in building grassroots people power. Now we want to elevate our presence and impact online. As the Creative Content Coordinator, you will oversee five staff -- writers, designers and video creators -- who create content to run smart, effective digital campaigns for Environment America, U.S. PIRG and other Public Interest Network groups.

Responsibilities

Oversee the plans and work of five creative professionals. Help them strategize on online content and troubleshoot the problems.
Steer the team’s online content decisions in smart, strategic directions.
Review and help improve our email alerts and appeals, our social media and our web content.
Attend and help lead periodic meetings and trainings.

Qualifications:

Organized: You need to be as comfortable with the 30,000 foot view of your team’s work as you are with the nitty-gritty daily plans that will help us reach our goals for the year.
Nimble: You’ll manage projects for your staff in a quickly changing, deadline-oriented work environment, spotting potential schedule and workload problems ahead of time.
Attention to detail: Reviewing and editing content is an important aspect of the job. Whether it’s fixing a spelling mistake or editing a sentence that’s off-message, you need to be vigilant and make sure we’re putting the best possible content out there.
Innovation and problem solving: Think on your feet and make things better. Be bold with your ideas. Propose them. Try them out. Make decisions.
Writing and editing: Must be a clear communicator and able to write to an audience with a strong command of grammar, logic and narrative.
Creative: Able to anticipate or define a problem, brainstorm solutions, propose or decide on a course of action, and follow through.
Enthusiasm: This is more than a 9 to 5 job. We deliver what we promise and take the time to do it right. We want people who are eager to take on more so they can expand the impact of their work.
