Sierra Club is seeking a
Deputy Press Secretary to lead
communications on its groundbreaking
Beyond Coal Campaign in the Pacific
Northwest. Beyond Coal is one of the most effective and best-resourced
environmental and public health campaigns in the U.S., and we're looking
for a savvy, independent public relations professional, who will act as
lead strategist and implementer for bold new communications campaigns
that will help move the Pacific Northwest from coal to clean energy.
Our new Deputy Press Secretary will be:

by the challenge of creating, planning, and executing creative paid and
earned media campaigns with diverse allies and partner organizations
across multiple regions.
- A self-starter who shows strong
initiative, and is willing to challenge conventional wisdom and build
consensus within a team of policy, legal and organizing talent.
- A talented storyteller with strong instincts for political dynamics and strategy.

to developing inclusive communication strategies that engage diverse
audiences within the growing pro-clean energy movement, including youth
and communities of color.
-Dedicated to using their skills to write
and pitch stories, develop relationships with reporters, craft messages,
and apply advertising tactics to advance our goals of expanding clean
