Khari Edwards for Brooklyn Borough President is seeking energetic interns to join the team. Interns will get to learn about all aspects of a campaign. They will work closely with campaign staff and the candidate to deliver victory. 

About Khari

Khari was born and raised on Carroll Street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. He is the son of immigrant parents from Guyana and Trinidad who were both city workers. Khari is a product of NYC public schools and is a public school parent to three children.

For nearly two decades, Khari’s career has been dedicated to community development and political action throughout the City and State of New York.

Khari is the fighter and advocate that Brooklyn needs. As Brooklyn Borough President he will fight for more affordable housing. Khari will prioritize making Brooklyn the healthiest borough in New York City. He believes in the power of our small businesses. He will fight to ensure all young people in the borough have opportunities they need to reach their goals.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with candidate and team on day to day operations of the campaign 
• Assisting with candidate call time and managing finance operation 
• Drafting emails
• Working with the communications team to implement messaging across the campaign
• Staffing the candidate

Qualifications

• Excellent writing skills

• Social media savvy - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

• Works well in a fast-paced environment

• Can quickly turnout around copy and content

• Is available during non-traditional hours, nights, and weekends

• Has a sense of humor

• Brooklyn based preferred. Bonus if you speak Spanish, Chinese, Haitian Creole or Russian
