Description:

The JB for Governor campaign is seeking an HR Specialist to join a statewide program in Illinois. The HR Specialist will report directly to the Field Operations Director. The HR Specialist will be responsible for tracking, acting on, and resolving HR-related issues within the Organizing team. They will also oversee the hiring and onboarding process, ensuring that all incoming staff are prepared to take on their job duties. The HR Specialist will also be responsible for developing, interpreting, and overseeing HR-related policies and practices.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creation and implementation of systems and processes related to HR, including hiring

  • Management and tracking of all mandatory staff trainings

  • Proactively searching out opportunities for professional development for managers

  • Tracking and resolving confidential HR complaints

  • Other duties as directed by the Field Operations Director


Qualifications

  • Background in HR or experience managing staff

  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills, especially via e-mail and phone

  • Proficiency in Google suite, especially Google Sheets (or Excel)

  • Creativity and problem-solving skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work both quickly and accurately

  • Strong ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt quickly to changing priorities

  • Capacity and desire to work long hours in a campaign setting


Compensation:

Salary for this position is commensurate with experience and skills.
