Candidate Overview
Maria Ordoñez is an organizer & activist and the youngest woman to be running for City Council in New York City. From being elected in 2019 as one of the youngest County Committee members in Manhattan to being elected as the youngest 2020 Presidential delegate in New York State to represent Bernie Sanders in the DNC. Maria is a life-long Harlem resident who is running a grassroots campaign fighting for the many.
Field Director Job Description
The field director is in charge of making sure the campaign gets its message out through direct voter contact. Their main responsibility is to develop a comprehensive plan that includes door knocking, tabling, (following COVID safety precautions) phone banking, and text banking in order to ID voters and persuade them about the candidate. They will also coordinate voter registration efforts. The field director needs to be highly organized, energetic, capable of motivating, managing staff and volunteers, and able to manage large quantities of data, be a team player, and able to table, and knock on doors (using COVID safety precautions). The Field Director is expected to recruit volunteers, mobilize residents in Council district 7.
Responsibilities Include
All this work will be conducted in accordance with COVID safety guidelines and will be completed in a safe, healthy, and socially distanced way.

Payment will be bi-weekly, commensurate with experience. Pay: $20 - $25 an hour.
