Position Summary
The Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA) seeks to hire a Deputy National Finance Director to support the National Finance Director and Executive Director in managing, growing, and strengthening the organization’s relationship with our strategic partners, 2020 candidates, and Democratic Attorneys General for fundraising purposes.
The Deputy National Finance Director will collaborate with the political and policy departments to help the organization develop a successful fundraising strategy for engagement with ideological and progressive partners; the Director will work to develop and build relationships with strategic partners and prospective partners to meet and surpass fundraising goals.
In addition, the Deputy National Finance Director will work with our 2020 Attorneys General candidates and incumbent Attorneys General to coordinate fundraising efforts in their states. They will be primarily responsible for coordinating with incumbent Attorneys General and candidates to raise funds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create a strategic plan to increase engagement with existing and prospective strategic partners
- Create a strategic plan to increase fundraising opportunities with our 2020 candidates and incumbent Attorneys General
- Manage the fundraising program for strategic partnerships, and allies
- Manage the in-state fundraising program for our candidates and Attorneys General
- Work with DAGA team to identify and build relationships with prospective partners and supporters
- Work with candidates and Attorneys General to expand national fundraising opportunities
- Provide and manage fundraising projections and reports
- Manage Finance Associate(s)
- Manage engagement and events with strategic partners and Democratic Attorneys General and candidates for Attorneys General
- Develop and provide updates and materials to strategic partners and allies to support fundraising goals
- Develop and provide updates and materials to in-state donors to support fundraising goals
- May need to work evenings and weekends
Required Skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong leadership skills
- Proven ability to perform well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines and objectives
- Clear and effective oral and written communications skills
- Project management skills that enable the juggling of multiple tasks, allocating and optimizing resources, and managing timelines
- Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and operate effectively in a fluid and fast-paced environment
- Commitment to DAGA’s mission
- Sense of humor and positive attitude
Required Experience
- 5+ years of political fundraising experience with success meeting and exceeding goals
- Experience leading a team and managing staff at all levels
- Experience working with Principals
- Experience working on political campaigns, preferably at the state-wide level
- Donor relationship management and strong knowledge of stakeholders and funders within the progressive community
- Bachelor’s degree required
