Campaign Overview: Top-tier Mayoral candidate in Chattanooga, Tennessee is seeking
a campaign manager for a grassroots campaign with a high emphasis on organizing,
stakeholder engagement, and direct voter contact.

Job Summary: This is a full-time position in an intense campaign environment. The
campaign manager reports to the candidate and has bottom-line responsibility for all
day-to-day aspects of the campaign, including fundraising, field and organizing,
communications, scheduling, office management, budget tracking, and compliance.

Job Duties Overview:
● Hire, train, and manage the campaign’s field director and any other senior
staff and selected consultants.
● The campaign managers manage the rest of the team.
● They manage all aspects of the research, drafting, and implementation of a
mayoral campaign plan.
● They define roles and negotiate contracts with all vendors, consultants, and
staff including general, fundraising, field, and media.
● Manage the team of consultants.
● They lead the fundraising team in identifying and soliciting funds for a
significant fundraising campaign.
● They build a broad, effective grassroots campaign including, but not limited
to, coalition building, voter engagement, volunteer activities, and constituency
management.
● Working with the field director, they contact and get-out-the-vote activities.
● They oversee the development of all paid media production, distribution, and
broadcast (TV, radio, and direct mail). Manage an aggressive, consistent free
media campaign.
● They staff the campaign committee and coordinate other committees.
● They manage all aspects of fiduciary oversight, legal administration, and
adherence to campaign finance reporting requirements.
● They ensure the campaign qualifies for the ballot.
● Track and report progress on campaign goals for fundraising, political
support, and other key metrics

Qualifications/Requirements:
● The campaign managers should have at least three years of political
organizing/campaign management experience, including experience with a
campaign where volunteer-executed voter identification played a central role
in the campaign.
● They must have a proven track record in coalition building, grassroots or field
campaign organizing, financial oversight, and public speaking.
● They must have experience in coordinating media purchase, production, and
media relations.
● They must have demonstrated fundraising experience and knowledge of
campaign funding sources.
● They must have demonstrated the ability to work with diverse communities,
serve as a team leader, and maintain a sense of humor.
● At least two cycles of political campaign work, including at least one cycle in
a senior staff capacity (manager, field director, comms director, finance
director.
● Strong knowledge of VAN
● Strong knowledge of Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
