The Texas Democratic Party is seeking a Digital Strategist with experience writing for social media and growing an audience to join our digital team in Austin, Texas. We’re looking for a writer who is passionate about fighting Trump Republicans in Texas and working on the ground to build Texas Democratic Party infrastructure.

What you’ll do:

Lead social media engagement strategy
Develop and maintain online relationships with voters, key influencers, reporters and bloggers
Engage supporters online by writing, editing, designing, and curating content
Define guidelines for best practices and engagement benchmarks; monitor and provide feedback on an ongoing basis
Monitor social media and news outlets for breaking news and opportunities

Preference given for experience with:

Familiarity with digital and social media platforms and a sense of excitement for new innovations in digital communication, mobilization, and organizing
One cycle or one session in the Texas Legislature
Adobe Creative Suite
SMS texting campaigns
Comfortable working under deadline pressure
A willingness to work long hours as needed

As soon as possible
