Emerging Congressional Race Seeks Finance Director - Austin, TX

An emerging Democratic Congressional race in a targeted district is seeking a Finance Director. The candidate must be located in, or willing to relocate to, Austin, TX for the duration of the campaign.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a multi-million-dollar finance plan

  • Build and manage a department of staff, consultants, and interns

  • Develop, implement, and manage a national-reaching campaign finance operation including national and Texas bundlers, call-time, events, and digital

  • Staff call-time as needed, particularly in the early stages of the campaign

  • Serve as part of the senior leadership team, advising candidate and campaign manager on the overall direction of the campaign

  • Such other duties as needed to run a successful campaign

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Past finance experience in a leadership role on a Congressional or similarly-sized campaign ($1 million+ raised)

  • Interest in working with a hands-on candidate seeking to utilize best practices to expand the capacity of his network and the overall fundraising operation

  • Strong written, communication, research, & interpersonal skills - attention to detail a must

  • Expert knowledge of NGP and ActBlue

  • Engaging personality: creative and innovative with a keen sense of humor; strong public presence and confident interpersonal style

  • Collaborative and thrives working in a team setting

  • Commitment to conducting work professionally, with unimpeachable ethics

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel

  • A strong drive, with a commitment to the cause; 60+ hour works weeks will be common

  • Reliable access to a smartphone, a laptop, and a car

 

Preferred but Not Required:

  • Experience working with a first-time candidate without an established donor network

  • Experience working with a hands-on candidate

  • Previous experience in Austin/Texas politics

  • Proficiency in Google Docs and Microsoft Office tools

  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus
