A DC-based Democratic research and policy shop is looking for a research associate to support an expansive and growing slate of gubernatorial, senate, congressional, and state races for the 2017/2018 cycle. This is a great growth opportunity for a motivated individual looking for a career in campaigns or legislative politics. The chosen candidate can expect to work in a wide variety of research areas, ranging from analyzing press hits to public records research, reviewing legislative votes, FOIA work, and much more. This position is based in Washington, D.C.

The ideal candidate:

  • Can power through thousands of Nexis clips without breaking a sweat
  • Knows the difference between an MTR and an amendment
  • Reads Playbook, Axios AM, and Daily Kos’ Election Digest every morning, but understands how happy the Washington Post is with Chris Cillizza’s new gig
  • Loves figuring out creative solutions to complex puzzles
  • Has a passion for Democratic politics and political and policy research

Campaign and/or political experience preferred.

Interested candidates who meet the above requirements should send their resume, writing sample, list of references and a short introduction to jo...@spirosconsulting.com.

A Little More About Us

Started in 2007, Spiros Consulting conducts opposition research, policy work, and general consulting for Democratic candidates and interest groups across the country.  We have worked in more than 45 states on races for President, Governor, Senate, Congress, Attorney General, Mayor, and numerous independent expenditures, including on one of Politico’s “Top 10 political upsets” and the Washington Post’s "honorable mention" winner for "best gubernatorial campaign.” National Journal called our work the “Most damaging early oppo hit” for the first half of 2014.  The New York Times’ Jonathan Martin noted our work and asked “has any statewide candidate been so eviscerated out of box by separate oppo hits…?
