Communications Director needed ASAP for Western Gubernatorial Primary

Gubernatorial campaign is in search of communications professional. We are working to fill this position ASAP. The campaign is based in Denver, travel across the state will be required. Preference is given to candidates with Colorado experience and/or ties.
The communications director will be responsible for the following:
· Develop and implement a long-term communications strategy for the campaign
· Building and maintaining relationships with local, state, and national political reporters
· Briefing the candidate and staffing interviews with various media outlets
· Compiling research and talking points for forum/debate prep with the candidate
· Support the drafting and distribution of campaign collateral (online content, talking points, FAQs, press releases, social media, etc.)
· Aggregate and distribute daily news clips for campaign leadership
· Monitor social media accounts and manage distribution of campaign messaging over various social media channels
· Build and support press event execution
· Support logistics and scheduling for surrogate speaking opportunities (editorial boards, community events, etc.)
· As the campaign evolves, various additional responsibilities may be assigned to this position
· Will report directly to the campaign manager and consultant team
The following qualifications/traits are strongly preferred for this position:
· On-the-record experience
· Advanced writing skills with attention to detail during proofreading
· At least one campaign cycle in communications role
· The ability to move fast in a dynamic campaign environment without sacrificing quality of work
· Timely execution of tasks and a solid work ethic
· Ability to work campaign hours.
· A strong belief in teamwork
