JOB DESCRIPTION
Fall Intern
The Democracy Alliance (DA) is a growing network of progressives who partner with, contribute to, and encourage collaboration among progressive organizations, strategists and donors at the national, state and local levels.
Over the last decade, more than $500 million has been raised to build and sustain elements of the progressive infrastructure – from multi-issue think tanks to a sophisticated media monitoring apparatus – that did not previously exist. Because of DA strategy and funding, there have been numerous progressive electoral victories, and many progressive ideas and policies have been enacted and achieved broad popular support.
In 2015, the DA has adopted a 2020 Vision which unites the community around the following set of shared values and goals for meeting them: a fair democracy in which everyone can participate; a growing economy that works for all; a planet that is safe and sustainable; and a nation that is equitable and just.
However, the 2016 election set our nation on a very different course, and although we are keeping our longer-term goals in sight, we also know that we can’t accomplish many of them, outside of several blue states and cities, right now. To compete, progressives must win. To build power and win elections over the next four years, the DA is focused on:
As it has in the past, the DA is committed to building progressive power by resourcing the infrastructure that can support those efforts.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Based in the Alliance's headquarters in Washington DC, the intern will primarily provide research and administrative support to help advance the DA’s Strategy and Planning and Partner Services teams.
