Democratic elected official in Westchester County, NY seeks a District-based policy aide to join an active office on a full-time basis.  

The aide will track the activities of other elected officials, meet with stakeholders in the community, and assist the elected official and other staff in accomplishing key goals in political, policy, and constituency areas.  The aide will also assist in drafting legislation, writing press releases, attending community events, and providing broad assistance to the elected official on community-related events.  This position is at the nexus of policy and community, and will help connect community activities with policy accomplishments for the elected official.

Among other traits, the ideal candidate will possess strong oral and writing skills, demonstrated knowledge or experience in politics and government, and a willingness to work long hours and weekends when necessary.  Familiarity with state and local government affairs and policy in Westchester County is preferred.  An active driver’s license is also required.  Salary is commensurate with experience.
