Description

Fleming for Congress is the official campaign for Bridget Fleming, county legislator in Suffolk Co., NY running for Congress in New York’s 1^st Congressional District. Fleming has been a resident of Sag Harbor. She is a former sex crimes prosecutor, and handled cases of fraud in public programs. She served on the Southampton Town Council, and currently serves in the county legislature in District 2.

 

Fleming for Congress is currently searching for a field director to manage the campaign’s grassroots outreach program. The position is hired on a rolling basis, and requires an enthusiastic, experienced staffer to manage under pressure. Ideal starting date is February 25^th. This position is through the New York primary on June 23, and subject for renewal to the November election.

 

Responsibilities

·       Manage the campaign’s grassroots outreach, including managing local stakeholders and political contacts across NY-1 for the June Primary.

·       Execute the campaign’s petition program to gain access to the ballot, including the training and mentorship of petitioners.

·       Set up and manage field events across the district, and assist event hosts in recruitment and attendance.

·       Hire, train, and manage field staff in volunteer recruitment, training, and organizing in the primary.

·       Work with campaign manager in managing political stakeholders in local, county, regional, and national party organizations as relates to field operations.

·       Assume responsibilities as delegated by the campaign manager for the successful execution of fundraising.

 

Qualifications

·       Have minimum of 2 cycles of campaign experience, with 1 year of field experience. The ideal candidate will have experience managing paid staff and/or super volunteers.

·       Experience working with Votebuilder, Mailchimp, and other volunteer and communication databases.

·       Willing to work long hours, including nights and weekends as necessary;

·       Capable of managing for results through ambitious goal setting and objectives.

·       Knowledge of New York politics, including the petition’s process, is ideal. Willing to relocate close to Suffolk County, NY.
