CBCPAC Political Assistant Job Description

The Congressional Black Caucus PAC (CBC PAC) is currently hiring for a political assistant. This is a part time position. The CBCPAC is a political action committee committed to supporting the ideals and policy positions of the Members of the Congressional Black Caucus.  The CBC PAC is committed to supporting candidates that champion the interest of the CBC while promoting African American participation in the political process.  This position will provide support to the Executive Director, while maintaining efficient administrative operations for the office. This is a paid position that requires 20-25 hours per week with flexible daytime hours. 


Responsibilities:

·         Perform clerical related functions such as maintaining office supplies, photocopying, faxing, and filing.

·         Assist with donor solicitation, including: events, meetings, calls, and online communication.

·         Maintain donor contacts and database to include data entry and occasional cleanup of donor records.

·         Assist the Executive Director with daily and special event matters.

·         Create a variety of documents including reports using MS Word and Excel.

·         Assist with correspondence composition.

·         Perform basic reception duties.

·         Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must hold a college degree and a shared commitment to the ideals of the CBC.  Must be available to work a minimum of three to four days a week.  Ability to demonstrate dependability, excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to be a self-starter and independent worker are a must. Strong knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (especially MS Word and Excel) are required.  Campaign and social media proficiency is a plus.
