SUMMARY:
Seeking a full-time Field Director to manage, plan and execute multiple paid canvasses targeting November 2018 Congressional and local races for the ACLU of Northern California. 

The Trump administration has brought unprecedented and deliberate attacks on our civil liberties. In reaction to this current political climate, the ACLU feels an urgent need to expand beyond legal defense to voter education. With this, the ACLU seeks to increase voter turnout, voter education, and pressure all candidates on the issues most affecting people today. 

ROLE:
The Field Director will play a vital role on the campaign leadership team. This position will spearhead voter mobilization and engagement throughout the Central Valley, will help develop field strategies in key districts, and will manage staff. The Field Director will report directly to the Consultant and the ACLU of Northern California. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensuring that daily, weekly, and long-term goals are met consistently 
Recruiting, training, scheduling, and following up with all canvassers
Ensuring that organizers and canvassers maintain accurate and reliable voter data
Assisting with the recruiting, training, and managing a team of paid field organizers in our SF office
Developing a field plan, strategizing target districts, and cutting turf 
Daily reporting and monitoring of metrics to the Consultant (contact rates, flake rates, confirmation rates, shift rates, etc.)
Communicating all important on-the-ground information to the Consultant
Managing a staff of 3-5 organizers, and up to 50-75 paid canvassers

REQUIREMENTS:
Two to three cycles of Field Director experience, with at least one experience of managing full time direct reports
Ability to work long, irregular campaign hours including weekends
Proficiency with VAN, L2, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Excel
Strong canvassing and training skills
Excellent recruiting skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and in (sometimes chaotic) team settings
Skilled in inspiring and supporting people at all levels, and particularly with direct reports 
Strong commitment to social justice and equity

SALARY:
The compensation will be $5,500-$6,000 a month. 

LOCATION:
