Tina Smith for Minnesota (TSM) is hiring a Training Director. This is a full-time, paid position based in the Twin Cities. This position reports directly to the Organizing Director.
The Training Director will develop and implement a strong, compelling and effective training program for staff and volunteers to be successful in virtual and grassroots efforts. The trainer will set the vision and strategy for the different phases of our campaign, create best practices around tools and provide a standard knowledge set for all organizing staff.
These trainings will support Senator Smith’s commitment to building power through organizing and relationship building across the state. We are looking for an experienced leader who will be committed to setting up our team for success through a changing cycle.

Primary job responsibilities include:
Create a training curriculum for organizing staff and volunteers
Develop a process for ensuring consistent trainings for live and virtual platforms
Work closely with the Organizing Director to utilize research of new tools and materials
Lead Staff and volunteer development
Ensure Tina Smith for Minnesota training curriculum is inclusive and reflective of the diversity of the DFL Party and develop content to support the needs of staff/volunteers from various backgrounds and identity groups
Minimum Qualifications:
The ideal Training Director will be an authentic, inclusive, and enthusiastic leader. The successful candidate will demonstrate many of the following qualifications and attributes:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Demonstrated commitment to racial/gender equity
Campaign experience in at least two election cycles at the local, state or federal level including experience in a management position working on campaign in training, field, and/or finance is required
Knowledge and use of Vote Builder including Voter File, and My Campaign; and field management tools
Demonstrable track record as a “people person” with success in managing, growing, and inspiring a diverse team to achieve results
Outstanding written and oral communication
Experience hiring, managing, and developing a diverse staff
Willingness to learn quickly and interpret information
