POSITION SUMMARY:  

The mission of the new Mobilization Department at the Democratic National Committee is to bring ordinary people into the heart of the DNC and provide Americans with encouragement, power, and tools to mobilize in their communities. We organize in all 3,413 counties across the country, through the state parties and from the grassroots, and we seek to impact down-ballot races and build the Democratic resistance to the corrupt, dangerous Trump-Republican agenda.

We seek an experienced fundraiser and manager to direct our team of grassroots fundraising experts. Your job will be to direct all grassroots fundraising activities of the Mobilization Team and lead the largest grassroots fundraising program in politics. You should have 5 - 10 years of experience leading similar fundraising programs, managing staff and hitting ambitious fundraising goals. You should be an expert on email marketing and fundraising, direct marketing, and telemarketing.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Manage the largest integrated direct mail, telemarking, and digital fundraising program in politics
  • Hire and manage fundraising staff
  • Develop and oversee execution of cross-channel fundraising plan for the Democratic Party
  • Work with the Major Donor, Grassroots Fundraising, and Prospects Director to optimize the experience of making a gift to the DNC
  • Create a cross-channel testing program to optimize and refine the experience for prospective donors
  • Set fundraising goals for the Donor Mobilization team and work with our analytics team to ensure those goals are measured, tracked and met

 

ABOUT YOU:  

  • 10 or more years’ experience of leading data-driven fundraising programs and prospecting new donors with an eye toward ROI
  • Commitment to integrity, fast-paced environments, sound judgement and collaboration
  • Record of hitting aggressive fundraising goals
  • Deep understanding of what compels all types of donors to make a gift
  • Expert understanding of key acquisition channels (email, direct mail, telemarketing, etc.) and ability to drive omni-channel approach
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of fundraising experience or other relevant work experience managing large teams with unique specializations
  • Proven record of hitting ambitious fundraising goals
  • Extensive managing budgets and interpreting reporting
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills; you should have an eagle-eye for typos and errors Deep understanding of what compels supporters to make a gift
