DESCRIPTION
Good Fight Political is a startup bringing the next generation of technology to Democratic political campaigns across the country. For years now, political campaigns and companies have used, built, and expanded the tech infrastructure available to progressive candidates running for office. From email CRMs, predictive dialers, texting, and individual campaign-based apps, there is a diverse ecosystem of important resources that campaigns now use to contact voters and win campaigns.

However, this landscape of campaign tech has become unwieldy, and in an era when mobilizing volunteers and supporters from across the country to get involved remotely is more important than ever, we do not have a platform that makes voter contact effective and efficient for both volunteers and campaigns. In short, campaigns and volunteers deserve better tools.

That’s why we’re creating HomeField. Good Fight Political is collapsing the stack and building an all-in-one platform to make volunteering easier and more accessible for both volunteers and campaigns. HomeField will host Democratic campaigns’ predictive dialing, peer-to-peer text messaging, and volunteer management activities, all from one platform.

Having built out a successful stage-1 MVP product that debuted in the fall of 2020, Good Fight Political is seeking to bring on a team of committed and talented software engineers to continue building HomeField.

Specifically, we are looking for engineers to work on the peer-to-peer messaging infrastructure and predictive dialer functionality in order to create a more seamless and fully-integrated experience for campaigns and their volunteers.

REQUIREMENTS

• Full stack development – working with our design and product development team to build a native peer-to-peer messaging system.
• Experience working with API development and integration
• High level of comfort and experience coding in TypeScript or JavaScript
• Work with the rest of the development team to ensure the P2P text messaging tool is integrated with other site functionality tracking user activity
• Participate in daily all-staff meetings to review product development and collaborate on ongoing work.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record working in a remote environment, and is comfortable with the small team environment of a startup. Candidates should have the ability to manage competing priorities, projects and needs through prioritization, transparency, and communication, while anticipating problems and proactively developing solutions. They must work well with a broad range of co-workers and keep calm under tight deadlines.

• Are comfortable with the fast pace of a startup, capable of working long and irregular hours, including weekends, evenings, and some holidays when necessary.
• Have either worked on or volunteered with previous Democratic political campaigns using remote volunteer tools

COMPENSATION
This is a full-time position to start immediately. Pay is commensurate with experience between $68,000 - $96,000 per year, and includes full healthcare and flexible vacation/paid time off policies. Position is also available to contractors if necessary/preferred.
