EMail Director -- Virginia

The 2019 Virginia Democratic Coordinated Campaign is hiring an EMail Director to run the online fundraising program of The Way Ahead PAC (Governor Northam), the Senate Democratic Caucus and the House Democratic Caucus.

The Email Director will be responsible for running multiple email programs -- planning, drafting, and executing grassroots email campaigns using fundraising, advocacy, and organizing tactics to engage our community in the fight to elect Democratic candidates.

Specific Duties

• Work with principals to develop writing styles for each organization;
• Manage the workflow of emails;
• Create, populate, and manage the email calendar;
• Draft creative emails based on fundraising and advocacy best practices;
• Set up emails and email landing pages;
• Work with the House Caucus Executive Director, Senate Caucus Finance Director & Way Ahead PAC Finance Director to implement strategies;
• Conduct, analyze, and share findings of regular testing to identify the most effective strategies and messages;
• Ensure content on all online properties is up to date and relevant;
• Stay up-to-date on cutting-edge technology and innovation within the field;
• Other projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience contributing to or managing a fundraising-based email program, preferably in a campaign, political, or non-profit organization.
• Expert knowledge of online fundraising and email best practices;
• Strong email writing and editing skills;
• Advanced knowledge of Act Blue, Blue State Digital, NGP 7 and NGP 8;
• Commitment to the diversity of our candidates, membership, partners, and staff;
• Commitment and passion to elect a Democratic Majority in the Virginia General Assembly.

Applicants should be prepared to work long hours, be based in Richmond, and have access to a vehicle. Excellent writing skills are a must.
