Position Overview:

The Colorado Organizing Director is responsible for executing the Colorado field program and managing the Regional Field Organizers. The Colorado Organizing Director reports to the State Director. The ideal candidate is dynamic and organized, with the ability to work effectively both with the team and autonomously on various projects.

This person will:

  • Develop and implement statewide field program, including all on the ground methods and strategies that allow the organizing team to hit weekly and quarterly metrics.
  • Collaborate effectively with other in-state departments to advance organizing priorities focused on 2020 primary.
  • Identify, recruit, hire, and manage in-state field staff.
  • Implement communication protocols that up and down the chain of command that ensure goals are clearly understood and the highest standard of data integrity is met.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in political and/or advocacy campaign management roles.
  • Strong personal connections within the state and working knowledge of that state’s Primary/Caucus process
  • Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Tact and professionalism in handling assignments involving work of a confidential nature.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, analytical problem solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, demonstrated ability to communicate with others effectively.
  • Ability to re-prioritize and proven ability to succeed in a fast-moving environment. 
  • Have worked with the state party in the past
  • Worked in a competitive Primary/Caucus
  • Have a strong relationship with a particular piece of the Democratic coalition, particularly Unions or the Environmental community.
