Job Description:

Pike Place Market Foundation

Executive Director Position Announcement

Are you equally passionate about supporting human services for Seattle’s low-income citizens and Seattle’s fabulous Pike Place Market?  Then this could be your dream job!

We are looking for an advocate for the services provided to citizens of Seattle within the vibrant Market community, including the food bank, an award winning pre-school, a senior center, a thriving health clinic and low-income housing.

This is a fast paced, hands-on, yet fun position that requires a great communicator, a proven fundraiser, a team player and, on occasion, the need to catch an incoming salmon.

ABOUT THE MARKET FOUNDATION

The Market Foundation works to preserve the diversity and traditions of the Pike Place Market community by raising funds to support the operation of services in the Market which benefit downtown Seattle’s nearly 10,000 low-income and senior residents, including the Market’s Clinic, Senior Center, Preschool, and Food Bank.  In addition, annual fundraising supports: 1) two programs providing fresh produce to low-income and senior residents; and 2) two housing service programs.  Funds are also raised as needed to support: 1) start-up of new human service programs and low-income housing in the Market neighborhood; 2) public improvements within the Market historical district; 3) capital projects for Market non-profit organizations and 4) Market historic preservation projects.   The Foundation has 5 staff members and 38 board members.  For more information about the Market Foundation, please visit www.pikeplacemarketfoundation.org.
