Field Organizer Position on Frontline PA Congressional Race

Congressman Matt Cartwright’s (PA-08) re-election campaign is seeking motivated, passionate, and reliable Field Organizers to help him keep his seat in a district Donald Trump won by 10 points in 2016. 

Start Date: September 1

Compensation: $3,500/month

Responsibilities:

  • Implement the campaign’s field plan in assigned turf

  • Recruit, train, and manage interns and volunteers to engage in direct voter contact

  • Meet and exceed a variety of different weekly metrics including volunteer recruitment and retainment goals

  • Plan and lead voter contact events including phone banks, text banks, canvasses, and community outreach events 

  • Develop relationships with local Democratic and progressive organizations

  • Cultivate volunteer leadership and grow volunteer teams to execute a successful GOTV operation

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to electing Democrats up-and-down the ballot

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups

  • Well-organized with proven time management skills

  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and ability to think creatively

  • Adaptable to changes in priorities 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and metrics-driven work environment

Preferred (not required):

  • Some organizing experience (paid, unpaid, or volunteer)

  • Proficiency with Votebuilder/VAN

  • Spanish language fluency

  • Ties to Pennsylvania 

This position is full-time and cycle only. Applicants must be comfortable working long and irregular hours, including nights and weekends. Applicants must also have access to a laptop and a vehicle or other reliable transportation.

Please note: Cartwright for Congress is strictly adhering to the CDC guidelines. We are currently working from home and hosting all volunteer activities virtually. Staff will be expected to relocate to PA-08 in the final months, but work will strictly follow health guidelines for the duration of the campaign.
