REGIONAL ORGANIZING DIRECTOR

Position Description
Aim Higher Now is seeking highly motivated candidates to serve as Regional Organizing Directors in Raleigh, Charlotte, Greensboro, and Wilmington. Regional Organizing Directors will focus on issue advocacy, voter engagement, and building long-term organizing capacity.
Regional Organizing Directors will report to the Aim Higher Now Organizing Director and will manage the day-to-day field operations in their region. Regional Organizing Directors will be responsible for implementing the field plan, recruiting, training and managing organizers, interns and volunteers, and will be held accountable to quantitative and qualitative metrics.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
● Hiring, training and managing organizers and managing a regional office.
● Recruiting, training, and building volunteer teams who will participate in and lead voter contact and other community engagement activities.
● Engaging in direct voter contact through canvasses, phone banks and community events.
● Implement the Aim Higher Now culture that values staff and volunteers, invests in their professional development, and prepares them for long-term success.
● Developing relationships with key community leaders, allied organizations and coalitions to build a base of support within the region.
Qualifications:
● An applicant’s approach to managing and coaching staff will be the primary criteria by which applications are evaluated.
● Previous experience as an Organizer on either a political campaign or issue advocacy campaign.
● Ability to build strong relationships with staff, volunteers, partners and allies and to cultivate those relationships over time.
● A general understanding of how power intersects with gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and class in organizing and electoral settings.
● Strong attention to detail and a pattern of consistently following through on commitments even during periods of increased workload.
● Demonstrated willingness to lead by example in setting a high standard for quality of work and professionalism.
● Demonstrated commitment to working in a team environment and doing everything possible to make the team successful.
● An understanding of targeting and metrics and experience with database management, including the VAN/VoteBuilder.
● Access to a vehicle is required.
● Willingness to work long hours, including nights and weekends, as necessary is required.
Compensation
The annual salary for this position is $45,000. Benefits include paid vacation and sick leave, health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
