POSITION SUMMARY:  

The mission of the new Mobilization Department at the Democratic National Committee is to bring ordinary people into the heart of the DNC and provide Americans with encouragement, power, and tools to mobilize in their communities. We organize in all 3,413 counties across the country, through the state parties and from the grassroots, and we seek to impact down-ballot races and build the Democratic resistance to the corrupt, dangerous Trump-Republican agenda.

We are looking for a Major Donor Mobilization Manager to build a best-in-class experience for our donors who give more than $1,000 to the DNC.

You’ll be responsible for optimizing the experience of high-dollar donors online, in the mail, and on the phones. You’ll work with our National Finance Director and fundraising staff to achieve our fundraising goals, and serve as the voice of our high dollar donors in the building. You’ll write emails, work with our design team to craft beautiful event invitations, and collaborate with our production and technology teams to build an exceptional donation experiences for supporters. The ideal candidate for this position has experience in major donor fundraising and digital fundraising.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Manage multi-channel programs that cater to major donors and prospective major donors, including but not limited to email fundraising materials, events, and direct mail campaigns
• Set fundraising and engagement goals for major donors across channels and work with our analytics team to ensure those goals are measured, tracked and met.
• Manage and produce email campaigns, including execution of complex segmentation and optimization programs, while ensuring the highest standard of quality
• Develop and implement a prospective donor plan; track and report on progress to goals
• Innovate how to best reach and mobilize our major donors over email and in direct mail
• Manage an email and direct mail calendar, and ensure complicated initiatives are executed correctly
• Work with our design team and production team to create beautiful and seamless donation experience across channels, including event invitations, email copy, and landing pages

 

ABOUT YOU:  

• 4-6 years of successful experience in major gift fundraising &/or digital fundraising
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills; you should have an eagle-eye for typos and errors
• Familiarity with online organizing platforms or website CMS, CRM, and/or mass email systems (e.g. Blue State Digital, Convio, ActionKit)
• 3-5 or more years of experience writing professional fundraising copy
• Passionate about electing Democrats
• Deep understanding of what compels major donors to make a gift
